Baden

Baden is a region in German. Today it's part of Baden-Württemberg.
History
From 1806 until 1918 it was a Grand Duchy with Karlsruhe as capital, see also Karlsruhe in the 19th Century.
From 1918 until 1933 is was a democratic state in the German “Weimarer Republik” and from 1933 until 1945 part of Nazi Germany.
After 1945 it belonged to “Nordbaden-Nordwürttemberg”.
