The State Museum for Natural Sciences (German: Staatliches Museum für Naturkunde, short: Naturkundemuseum) developed from the collection of the margravine Karoline Luise. The Karlsruhe Museum for Natural Science was founded in 1785. It has exhibitions of fossils, minerals and prehistoric animals, as well as a vivarium containing reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.
